If you’ve got full Robotics Perk ranks in Fallout 4, you can use a scoped-weapon exploit to absolutely dominate the Automatron DLC package by hacking robots.
To accomplish this, you’ll need a high Intelligence and three ranks in Robotics. If you don’t have the levels, check out these cheats to learn how to level up fast.
Using the Exploit
The hacking exploit is very easy to perform once you’re properly leveled. Use any shoulder arm with a high-powered scope. Sniper rifles work very well.

From a long distance, zoom in on the bot. Once you’re dead zeroed in, you gain the ability to hack the bot as if you’re standing right next to it!
That means you can easily make bots allies from a distance, turning them against nearby foes. You can also opt to shut them down, or most spectacularly, set them to self-destruct. They’ll shatter most nearby foes.
Since the vast bulk of Automatron DLC enemies are bots, this makes the DLC and subsequent robot radiant quests a breeze.
